• Dreamchasers Tour: Club West Golf Course, 73, 73

Club West 2.10.15 2 RoundsOverview: It was perfect weather over the last two days! The greens and fairways were firm with a lot of tight lies. I’m really glad for the tournament experience. I’m having fun hitting the ball well!

    Day One Highlites:

#4 Driver to 40 yards and then hit a low sand wedge to 10 feet and made the putt for birdie.

#9 Driver down the middle of the fairway and then hit 8-iron from 168 yards to 5 feet and made the putt for birdie.

#12 Driver, 3-hybrid to just in front of the green and chipped to 5 feet and made the putt for birdie.

    Day Two Highlites:

#8: Driver, 3-wood from 250 yards to 20 feet on the uphill par 5. I two-putted for birdie.

#9 Perfect drive and then lost concentration on my iron shot and chunked it 20 feet short of the green. I chipped to 20 feet and made the putt for par.

#10 Big driver to the back of the green to 20 feet and two-putted for birdie.

    Positives:

Driver: I hit the driver really well. The second day, I played a fade on every shot except hole #10 and averaged about 305 yards hitting the fade. On number 10 I hit a slight draw 345 yards and drove it to the back of the green.

Irons: I also played a fade on all of my iron shots and hit the ball very consistently.

Full swing in general: I really felt confident aiming just a little left of my target and then I had the feeling of swinging out while my head stayed back through impact. Probably as consistent ball striking as I have ever seen.

    Areas to improve:

Short Game: The greens were really firm and I ran a lot of my wedge shots too far by the hole. I will play more bump and runs that land on the fringe when chipping on firm greens. Also, I will think about putting from off the green more when playing these conditions.

Putting: I will do a better job finding the fall line when reading the greens on a course I am unfamiliar with. I actually hit all of my putts how I wanted, I just went with my first instinct the whole time and read a lot of putts incorrectly. It was tricky because this course was on the south side of South Mountain. When playing north of South Mountain, every putt tends to break toward South Mountain so I was thinking that most of the putts would break away from South Mountain, but that was not the case.
