Three questions hold the key to true confidence and peace while swinging a golf club and while living life:
1. Is your set-up position correct?
2. Is your finish position correct?
3. Are you sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have the true answers to the first two questions?
If you know exactly how to set up to the golf ball, and also know exactly how to finish your swing, you can rip through impact without a care in the world. Have you searched with all your might to find the perfect set-up and finish positions? Or, have you been too distracted by the impact of the golf ball and the results of where the ball went?
Now, think about the three questions above from a spiritual perspective. Do you know that you are set up correctly? Do you know where you are going when your life is finished? Have you made every effort to find out the answer to these deep questions? Or, have the worries of day-to-day life kept your mind off of these questions?
The confidence and peace that I have in my life comes from a deep conviction that God made me and that I am going to be united with Him at the end of my life. I have developed this conviction from my individual study of the Bible. Not just because other people told me what I should believe. I would encourage you to search the Bible for answers. People will never have all of the answers, but God’s Word does have the answers.
You can have peace in the present because you know the beginning and the end!
