Over the last couple months I have had the opportunity to play 4 tournaments on the Outlaw Tour. The main take-away for me from these events is that I have all the tools, but I need to be more instinctive on the course.
To improve my scoring and consistency I need to be playing more rounds of golf and practicing more. And at this point in the year with the short amount of daylight and busy teaching schedule, I’m realizing it’s just not the right time for me to be playing a lot of golf. Over the summer when I played the Oklahoma Open, I was playing more rounds of golf, and I felt much more confident and instinctive on the course. The Oklahoma Open was on a tougher course than the 4 Outlaw Tour events, and I averaged a score of 70 versus an average of 73 in these Outlaw Tour events.
So for now, I’ll practice when I can, but I’m excited for a full five months of teaching till I head back to Oklahoma in the summer. Hope everyone has a great holiday season and Merry Christmas!
