    Starfire, Hawk king 6.2.15

Overview: The weather was perfect today at Starfire! I had a lot of good looks at birdie and my work on the short game over the last couple months is really starting to pay off.

    Highlites:

#3. Driver down the middle of the fairway to 40 yards from the flag. The flag was located just above a ridge in the green and I hit a low 52 degree wedge to 5′ and made the putt for birdie.

#4. Driver into the dirt on the right side of the fairway. From 190 I hit 5-iron just short of the green and then chipped to a foot for an easy birdie.

#10. Driver into right tough and then a cut 3-wood from 275 yards that missed the green to the right. From there I chipped it over the green and then made a 20 foot putt from off of the fringe for birdie.

#15. Driver down the middle of the fairway and then 7-iron to just in front of the green from 192 yards. From there I hit a 60 degree lob wedge to 6 inches for an easy birdie.

#16. Driver down the left side of the fairway and then a 52 degree gap wedge to 16 feet and made the putt for birdie.

#18. Driver down the middle of the fairway and then a 5-iron from 202 yards. I mis-hit the 5 iron to 30 yards short of the green but pitched my ball to 5 inches for an easy tap-in birdie.

Positives: My short game is very solid and my irons were satisfactory. I also did a good job of staying committed to about 95 percent of my shots.

Areas to improve:  Driving: Work on hitting the center of the clubface and finishing in balance.
