Overview: The weather was great and it was a lot of fun be out on the course today! This morning I had a great practice session… I’m working on increasing my clubhead speed; It’s still amazing to me to be able to swing hard without any pain in my shoulder after having constant pain for a year and a half. I am very thankful to be completely healed, and actually my shoulder works better now than before surgery and before it got hurt.
Highlites:
#1: Driver into the left rough. From 227 yards I hit a low, hooking 3-iron right over the flag to just off the back of the green. From there I chipped to 6 feet and made the putt for birdie.
#3: 3-hybrid off the tee to 141 yards from the pin. From there I hit a pitching wedge to 15 feet and made the putt for birdie.
#6: Driver down the middle of the fairway and then 6-iron to just in front of the green from 191 yards. From there I chipped to 4 feet and made the putt for birdie.
#9: Driver just into the left rough. From 185 yards I hit 6-iron to 30 feet and two-putted for birdie.
#10: Driver down the middle of the fairway. Then from 143 yards, I hit pitching wedge to 15 feet and made the putt for eagle.
#11: Driver down the right side of the fairway. From there I hit a 6-iron from 190 yards to 20 feet and two-putted for birdie.
#16-17: My legs were dead tired and I hit some poor shots on 13-15 but then I regrouped and hit quality shots on the way in to finish with 3 pars.
Positives: My mental routine is getting grooved and I am hitting the ball farther and making more committed swings. Also, I have a focused but care-free attitude with my putter so I am in a good frame of mind to make a lot of birdies.
Areas to Improve: More full swing practice sessions to get my legs in shape. I know I can hit the ball farther than I am hitting it now and I want to consistently hit it 330 yards every time, not just when I catch it perfect. Also, I will start doing cardio workouts to go along with my Barre3 workouts.
