• Tournament Recap: Pro-Scratch Golf League at Starfire Golf Club

Overview: It was another nice day on the course at Starfire! We played the Hawk and Squire nines on freshly overseeded rye grass. The condition of the course was excellent and the grass really came in well this year.

    High-lites:

#2. Driver down the middle, then 60 degree lob wedge from 85 yards to 6 inches for an easy birdie.

#3. Driver down the right side of the fairway and then 60 degree wedge to 5 feet. Made the left to right breaking putt in the center of the hole at perfect speed.

#4. Driver down the middle of the fairway and then 4 iron to just short of the green. Then chipped to 6 inches for an easy tap-in birdie.

#9. Driver into the right trees. Then punched a 4 iron under the trees that ended up just 4 feet left of the hole. Then made the straight uphill putt for birdie.

#10. Driver down the left side of the fairway and then 7-iron to 20 feet. Easy two putt for birdie.

#12. Driver into the right rough behind a tree. Then a 50 yard slice with hybrid to just short of the green. Then chipped to 2 feet and made the putt for birdie.

Positives: Every part of my game is solid. Starting to feel really strong with my exercise routine I’ve been doing.

Areas to improve: One three putt. On the second putt, I didn’t stay committed to my line and was too tentative. I will stay committed to my line on all of my putts in the future. Also, I will practice my hybrid a little more from 235 to 255 as I didn’t hit it very solid on number 18.
