Overview: It was a nice day with about 75 degree temperature and 15 mph wind. The course is a desert course with only two par 5’s.
Highlights:
#2. Driver down the left side of the fairway. Then 6-iron to just short of the green and then almost chipped it in for an easy tap-in birdie
#3. I hit 4-iron off the tee and then 7-iron downwind from 195 to 10 feet past the hole. Then made that double-breaking putt for birdie.
#4. Driver down the middle and 54 degree wedge to 3 feet for an easy birdie.
#13. Driver down the middle and then lob wedge from 90 yards to 15 feet and made that putt for birdie.
#12. Driver to 37 yards from the green and then lob wedge to 4 feet and made the putt for birdie.
#17. Driver down the middle and then 3 wood to just in front of the green. Then chipped to 3 feet and made the putt for birdie.
Learning Opportunities:
On #6 I four-putted. I went to tap in my 1″ putt and missed the ball. This was a good lesson to keep my focus on every shot. After that I took more time on my tap-ins.
Positives: I never got in trouble off the tee and my all around game was pretty solid.
Areas to improve: A couple times down the stretch, I got distracted over the ball and went ahead and swung. Next time I will stop and start my routine over if I get distracted.
