• Teaching: Four Facts I Want to Know about You and Your Golf Game

Before I begin teaching a new student, I ask the following questions:

    1. What are your past experiences with golf? (Such as: how long have you been playing, how were you introduced to golf and have you had any previous lessons?)

    2. How much time do you have for practice and play every week?

    3. What is your primary goal in golf? (Could be anything from just having fun, all the way to making the tour.)

    4. Do you have any physical limitations? (Such as injuries.)

Questions like these can give me a good idea of where students have been and want to go with their golf games. I have found that the more I know about the student, the more it ensures that we are on the same page. If you are getting a lesson from a teaching pro, I recommend giving them this information.
