• Update – Looking forward to 2013

I’m looking forward to 2013! I have a great tournament schedule lined up for the first part of the year, and even more important, I have a plan to get back to playing a full schedule of tournaments. My first tournament back from a 3 month break will be January 13-14th on the Pepsi Tour. It will be great to start competing again. Also, we welcomed our second child, Ellie, on November 30th! She is healthy and doing well.

The last few months have been a learning experience for me. I was working my two part-time jobs, giving lessons, practicing and playing tournaments, and I physically wore myself out. One night when I was at my pizza delivery job I started feeling like I was passing out. This feeling went on for several weeks and really made me slow down and take a break. I am so glad that I can trust my heavenly Father when things are out of my control, and the way that I was feeling seemed definitely out of my control. 1st Peter, chapter one, gave me a lot of encouragement during this time. Because of my health, I had to quit delivering pizza and I also quit working at Chic-fil-A because my lesson clientele had grown. As of now my health is almost back to 100%.

My practice is going well. Except for a couple of weeks, I have been able to practice six days a week for the last five months. I have a two hour practice routine that really helps me to stay focused and has kept every part of my game sharp.

That’s about all for now. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
