Overview: It was another great day at Papago Golf Course. About 105 degrees and sunny with the greens rolling just a little slower than last week. I played solid and will get rid of the bogeys next time I play here.
Highlites:
#2. Driver into right desert, and then gap wedge from 105 yards to 10 feet for birdie.
#3. Cut hybrid from 228 yards to two feet and made the putt for birdie.
#10. Driver into right tough and then a high cut hybrid from 245 yards onto the fringe just past the hole. From there I chipped to 10 feet and made the putt for birdie.
#12. Driver down the middle of the fairway and then 60 degree lob wedge to 1 foot for easy birdie.
#15. Driver, 3-wood to 40 yards from the green. 60 degree lob wedge to 1 foot for an easy birdie.
Positives: My short game is solid and I hit a lot of good cut shots today.
Areas to improve: On number 7 I hit pitching wedge 150 yards because the wind gusted when I was planning on it going 133. Next time, I will back off when I feel the wind picking up. Also, on number 8, I hit a draw when I was playing for a cut from 265 yards on the par 3. I will practice hitting more cuts with my 3-wood. Also, when the ball is sitting up in the grass, I will focus on clipping it off the top of the grass.
